Sand Trap Louvers

Al Arabia sand trap louvers are used as pre-filters to prevent conditioned areas from sand and high dust particles in areas prone to sandstorms and extreme industrial pollution. Vertically placed inverted U blades and self-drain holes separate large sand particles at low air velocities, avoiding excessive dust loading on secondary stage filters. Self-cleaning and maintenance-free, providing maximum performance at low face velocities; suitable for structural openings in wall cladding, single/double skin composite panels, concrete or block walls. Available in aluminium (extruded, exposed type) and galvanised (flush type); optional bird mesh, insect screen, aluminium washable filter (WF) and finishes P (powder), A (anodised), E (epoxy) or M (mill). Construction: 1.2 mm extruded aluminium frame, 1.0 mm extruded aluminium blades, 25 mm washable aluminium filter, wall/duct mounted or flush mounting, RAL 9016 powder coated finish. Louvers taller than 42 inches are supplied with integral sand drain chute; selection code e.g. SL-AL-18x12-AL-P-B (width x height, material, finish, bird screen). Tests on similar equipment indicate typical filtration efficiency of 80% on AC coarse (20-200 microns) and 50% on AC fine test dust (1-70 microns); recommended face velocity 1.0 m/s for natural ventilation.
